The Summer Season is a bold, ambitious, new project from Sedos, the City of London's premier amateur theatre company, involving 43 actors, 14 social events, 6 directors, 6 performances, 5 workshops and 3 free events.

The Summer Season runs from 12-18 July 2015 and brings together performances, workshops and events at a number of central London venues.

"We've recently done a survey of our members and supporters, which 100 people completed, and the results have helped to inform what we are offering in the Summer Season," said Summer Season director Angus Jacobs.

"Respondents were keen to have more opportunities to perform without the time commitment of a full rehearsal period, more chances to learn new skills and more social events to make the society feel more of a members' club."

The Summer Season includes performances at the Bridewell Theatre, where Sedos is the resident theatre company. The season opens with a weekend workshop of Bruce Norris' Pulitzer Prize-winning play Clybourne Park and continues with the comedy Shakers, by John Godber and Jane Thornton. These are followed by Americana (an evening of extracts from six American plays), a live reading of the screenplay of Reservoir Dogs - with personal permission of Quentin Tarantino - and a performance of the new backstage musical On the Night.

In addition there will be Give it a go backstage and Stage hair workshops, an exhibition, social and quiz, plus special editions of Sedos' weekly dance class Sedance and choir Sechoir.

Sedos has also partnered with the Bishopsgate Institute to offer two additional workshops during the week: Ballroom dance for actors and New life into tired songs.

The week concludes with a screening of the Sing-A-Long version of Disney's Frozen.

Ticket prices have been kept low to allow people to take part in or see multiple activities and shows. A season ticket, offering entrance to everything except the Bishopsgate workshops, costs just £15 (£12.50 for Sedos members).
