Prime Theatre to Take a Leap for Young Performers

Staff from Swindon's only professional theatre company will be skydiving from 15,000 feet on Friday 26 th August to raise money for 'Prime Youth Theatre Grants' - a fund that helps to pay for some or all of a Young Person's Youth Theatre membership fees.

Prime Theatre (previously known as Sixth Sense Theatre Company) is a Swindon-based charity who run weekly youth theatre workshops for young people aged 5 to 25 as well as creating professional theatre. In a safe and supportive environment, young people are able to develop performance and theatre-making skills, grow in confidence, work as a team and develop an appreciation and enjoyment of theatre. Prime Theatre also offers Technical and Writing Masterclasses that help to train their members in all aspects of the theatre.

Tia Manning, 19, Young Producer and organiser of the jump, says, "We at Prime Theatre are passionate about Young People, regardless of their background, flourishing in the Arts. This is why we are raising money for the fund. Although we are the best value youth theatre in the local area, we want to ensure that it is still available to everyone."

Daniel Tuersley, 13, a member of Prime Youth Theatre says, "Prime Youth Theatre is unique! Our workshops always having a great atmosphere and all of the members joining in and having fun. When I first started I was a bit nervous but everyone is so welcoming. Now I love coming to sessions and learning about the theatre whilst also having a laugh along the way!"

Tia Manning, alongside Mark Powell, Artistic Director (42), Sarah Wrixon, Company Manager (30) and Carli Green, Young Artist (19) will be taking the plunge in hopes of raising £4000 for this cause.
