An old-school chiller that has gripped audiences and critics alike since its 2012 Edinburgh debut. "A swift and meticulously planned masterclass in stage horror"

Inspired by the real-life Sarah Winchester and her bizarre home, PEACEFUL stars Laura Louise Baker as Ethel Charles, an old woman living alone in a labyrinth of a mansion, hiding from ghosts she believes to be hunting for her. When she invites the exotic medium Mr De Villiers (Jaacq Hugo) to help her make peace with the dead before she joins them, Ethel may have invited a more real threat into her home...

With an emphasis on atmosphere and good old-fashioned storytelling, PEACEFUL is a taut thriller about guilt, faith and the power of fear.

So far, PEACEFUL has thrilled audiences at the Edinburgh, Buxton, Preston and Camden fringe festivals, as well as the London Horror Festival and Salford's Play-4-Free Fest. An extra date was added at the Buxton fringe in 2013 due to popular demand. It is scheduled to go back there in July, after a stop at the Greater Manchester Fringe.

This is The Off-Off-Off-Broadway Company's second time at the Brighton Fringe, following the 2010 debut of gender-bending marital drama The Sexes. That show is set to be revived for the Camden Fringe in August.
