Local boys and young men are to be given the chance to work with one of the world's best known choreographers. In this rare and exciting opportunity, they will train with Matthew Bourne and perform in his Lord Of The Flies at The Marlowe Theatre next autumn.

Choreographed by Olivier-nominaTEd Scott Ambler, and adapted and directed by Matthew Bourne and Scott Ambler, the production is based on the classic novel by William Golding; the action transferred from deserted island to deserted theatre.

A group of schoolboys find themselves abandoned. With no adults around they start to make their own rules and create their own civilisation, before order breaks down and the story builds to an electrifying climax.

The cast will feature New Adventures dancers and boys aged between 11 and 22, chosen from the region and mentored by local ambassadors who will have a week's boot-camp with Matthew Bourne's New Adventures at their space in London, including a masterclass with the man himself.

Auditions for the company of young men will be held in July; full details will be announced on The Marlowe Theatre website (marlowetheatre.com) in the new year.

Lord of the Flies is at The Marlowe Theatre from Wednesday 24 to Saturday 27 September. Performance times are 7.30pm, with 2.30pm matinees on the Friday and Saturday. Tickets will be on sale soon.
