Children aged from eight to 16 will work with a professional director to create plays which will be performed live on The Marlowe Studio stage. There are two workshops: Play In A Week (eight to 11 years) and Play In A Fortnight (11 to 16).

Andy Dawson, The Marlowe's Head of Creative Projects, said Summer Marlowe Youth Theatre offers so much: "The sessions for both age groups will help improve performance skills in comedy, physical theatre, mask and group work, while spending time in a working theatre. Above all else though, there will be a lot of fun!".

The theme is the Grimm Fairy Tales, from well-known stories such as Hansel And Gretel and Sleeping Beauty, to the less known, darker tales from the collections, participants will have fantastic and intriguing characters and stories to perform.

Play In a Week runs from Monday 3 to Friday 7 August and costs £100, while Play In A Fortnight is Monday 10 to Friday 21 August and is £200. Places are limited and selling fast; call the Box Office on 01227 787787 or go to marlowetheare.com.
