Wolverhampton Grand Theatre has today announced that John Altman will join the cast the swashbuckling pantomime adventure Peter Pan, playing the dastardly pirate Captain Hook.

John has recently been seen in leading roles in feature films On A Prayer and My Lonely Me but is probably best-known for his role as Nick Cotton in BBC TV Soap EastEnders. John first appeared in the Soap in 1985 and is currently on-screen as the show approaches its live 30th anniversary, to be celebrated by a week of live specials from 16 February.

John's Theatre career spans three very successful decades and includes performances as Bill Sykes in Oliver!, Jigger in Carousel, Tippie Gray in Little Tramp, Rocco in Oh, What A Night!, Billy Flynn in Chicago The Musical, Lucky Eric in Bouncers, Glenn Miller in American Patrol, Gangster in Kiss Me Kate and Porter in Worms Eye View.

The latest casting announcement follows news in December that children's TV icons The Chuckle Brothers will play the comedy duo Paul & Barry Smee in the show.

Michael Harrison, Managing Director of Qdos Entertainment's pantomimes division said; "I am delighted that John has agreed to join us in pantomime this Christmas. John is a first-rate actor and to have him cast alongside the hilarious comedy talent of The Chuckle Brothers guarantees us another sensational season at The Grand Theatre."

Peter Pan runs at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from Saturday 12 December 2015 to Sunday 24 January 2016. Tickets are on sale now and are available from www.grandtheatre.co.uk or by calling the ticket office on 01902 42 92 12.
