Fairground Theatre to Present THE WRITERS' PLAYGROUND: AN EVENING OF BRITISH WRITERS, Sept 7

Fresh from the success of THE HOMEFRONT, Fairground Theatre Company are pleased to present THE WRITERS' PLAYGROUND: An Evening of British Writers.

THE WRITERS' PLAYGROUND brings together some of the best writing talent in the country for one evening, to showcase new British writing and to celebrate the work of the more well-known writers in the industry. Opinion in our theatre-goers is changing: they long for something new, exciting, and most importantly, British! With a West End that is currently filled with American exports and jukebox musicals, Fairground Theatre Company felt that it was time for the London public to celebrate the talent right on their doorstep. They hope that by pooling this talent together, they can raise the profile and popularity of already established writers, as well as providing a platform for newer writers within the industry.

The exciting line-up of writers features:

George Stiles (Mary Poppins/Betty Blue Eyes/Honk!/Just So)
Stuart Matthew Price (Before After/Moving On)
Robert Gould (My Land's Shore)
Dan Looney (The Confession Room)
Finn Anderson (Streets/Alba)

And also includes: James Robert Ball, Miracle Chance, Rob Eyles, Read-Wilson & Hughes, Claire Rivers, Rob Archibald and Verity Quade.

For one night only, the Union Theatre in Southwark will be transformed into a cabaret venue, with live music, talented performers and original material for theatregoers to enjoy. Tickets are now on sale for this exciting event, which is happening on the 7th September at the Union Theatre, Southwark. Doors will open at 19:00 for an 20:00pm start. Tickets are £15 and can be purchased from the Union Theatre Box Office by calling: 020 7261 9876.
