PK Productions, by arrangement with R&H Theatricals Europe, present the London premiere of DOCTOR SELAVY'S MAGIC THEATRE, from 28th January - 1st February 2014 at New Wimbledon Theatre. The official press performance is Wednesday 29th January 7.45pm.

The show features music by Stanley Silverman, and was theatrically conceived by Richard Foreman, with lyrics by Tom Hendry, and originally produced by Music Theatre Group, and directed by Patrick Kennedy,

Welcome to the extraordinary odyssey of a confused young man, led by wacky doctors through a labyrinth of wildly theatricalised versions of major life crises and temptations -- wealth, sensuality, power, romance, lost innocence, and death.

Presided over by the enigmatic Dr. Selavy (or C'est La Vie, if you like), himself an illusion created by master trickster Marcel Duchamp, this outrageous journey leads our hero in an ironic dance through an eccentric fun house of extravagant awakenings to a climax of self-knowledge and acceptance. To the strains of an eminently hummable and upbeat score, this offbeat piece provides an adventurous departure from the traditional expectations of musical theatre.

Following a critically acclaimed year producing Halbwelt Kultur, PK Productions continue to break boundaries with this zany, off-beat surrealist musical which presents fun, adventure, diverse musical treats and lots of wit whilst maintaining a through-line of important and socially relevant satire.

This production marks the London premiere of Doctor Selavy's Magic Theatre which has enjoyed a rich and diverse history in America since its conception and run Off-Broadway in 1972.
