Comedian makes world's greatest theme park at this year's Fringe

Edy Hurst presents Edy Hurst: Theme Show

Award-winning comedian Edy Hurst presents a debut work of comic ingenuity and imagination. Combining lo-fi props with spectacularly daft surprises, Theme Show sees Edy plundering against forces far beyond his reach to create the world's greatest theme park.

With years of experience as a theme park employee, Edy has plenty of hilarious stories, characters and observations from the other side of the amusement industry. Unfortunately, confidentiality agreements mean that he cannot talk about any of this, but there's nothing in there about setting up his own park (within the context of a stand up show).

Lacking funds, construction knowhow or emotional resilience, will Edy be able to convince the local planning committee to back his dream park?

Expect rides (homemade), fireworks (homemade), and more (homemade), in the world's first (only) theme park show, making its Edinburgh Fringe Festival World Premiere at Just Downstairs at the Tron, 11 am from 20th - 27th August.

Edy Hurst ('a manic ball of comedy energy' Giggle Beats) started stand up after winning Tickled Pig student competition in 2013, and has gone on to be runner-up of Red in the Face 2014, Semi Finalist Great Yorkshire Fringe Act of the year 2016 and is one quarter of Fat Moron, City Life Second Best comedy night in Manchester 2016 ('fast becoming the most exciting comedy event in the UK' wow 24/7). Edy Hurst is currently nominated for the BBC New Comedy Award 2017, performing on BBC Radio 4.

Edy regularly performs alternative comedy around the country combining an oddball lingo with inventive and playful pieces, blurring the line between improv, musical comedy and stand up.

Edy will also be performing 30 minutes of his stand up and musical comedy alongside Leicester Square Theatre New Act of the Year Joby Mageean as part of Joby Mageean and Edy Hurst: Dead Nice Boys 20th - 27th August 12pm Laughing Horse @ Southside Social.
