The leading Suffolk theatre company Red Rose Chain's open air season, 'Theatre In The Forest' celebrates its 15th Anniversary this year with a double bill of classic plays. The season begins with The Comedy of Errors which from August will run in rep alongside a brand new adaption of Wuthering Heights.

Both productions will be directed by the company's Founder and Artistic Director Joanna Carrick (Fallen in Love, The Tower of London, The Taming of the Shrew, Theatre In The Forest) who has joined forces with puppetry designer and director Jimmy Grimes (War Horse, West End).

In keeping with the company ethos that theatre should be as widely accessible as possible, The Comedy of Errors will be presented for an audience of all ages, and Wuthering Heights will be staged as a gothic romance which lends itself to this rural staging, and will appeal to older children and adults.

'Theatre In The Forest' resides at Jimmy Doherty's 'Jimmy's Farm' (of television fame) following the highly successful move to the venue last year from Rendlesham. In the summer of 2013, devoted fans flocked to one of the UK's most cultural working farms and the increased capacity of the season's new home allowed for the attendance of record audiences of over 10,000.

Red Rose Chain patron, Emma Freud O.B.E. said of the company, "Red Rose Chain do this amazing job of creating fantastic community projects in Ipswich, working with the very under privileged and unloved and then also doing these incredibly slick, really dynamic and exciting professional theatre productions; absolutely mixing the two together."

The 'Theatre in the Forest' 2014 company comprises: Laurence Pears (Taming of the Shrew, Red Rose Chain, Romeo & Juliet, Young Shakespeare Company) Kirsty Thorpe (Taming of the Shrew, Red Rose Chain, Body & Soul, Red Rose Chain), Joel Johnson (The Magic Fishbone, Red Rose Chain, Murderous In Tent, Hull Truck Theatre) Anna Doolan (Dracula, The Ashcroft Theatre, The Big Sleep, The Mill at Sonning) Rachael McCormick (Perchance to Dream, Finborough Theatre, Oliver!, Theatre Royal, West End) Daniel Abbott (Parade, Old Vic Tunnels) Lucy Telleck (Robin Hood, UK Tour), Housewife, 49, The Old Laundry Theatre) Tristan Pate (Cider With Rosie, Everyman Theatre Cheltenham, I Bertolt Brecht, UK Tour).

Joanna Carrick has written and directed over 30 plays and films with Red Rose Chain. Joanna's work is often characterised by meticulous historical research and attention to detail alongside stories with a real human heart. Joanna has directed 14 summer seasons of 'Theatre In The Forest' and directed the site specific piece, Fallen In Love at The Tower of London last year.

Jimmy is Assistant Puppetry Director on War Horse in London's West End, and is currently creating puppetry for Duck, Death and the Tulip at The Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond. He won the 'Les Enfants Terribles' Award 2012, which led to his Edinburgh Fringe debut with The Boy With The Cuckoo Clock Heart, and has created puppetry for many of Red Rose Chain's productions including The Magic Fishbone and numerous projects at 'Theatre In The Forest'.
