Opening next week, Sheffield People's Theatre and theatrical innovators, Slung Low explode the conventions of theatre as they take on one of the greatest legends of all time in Camelot: The Shining City from Thursday 9 - Saturday 18 July.

This epic adventure based on the legend of King Arthur, is brought to life by a cast of over 130 with breathtaking battle scenes and dialogue, music and incredible audio relayed to every audience member through personal headphones, Camelot: The Shining City is an unique, original and powerful piece of theatre, set to transform the city this month.

Set in the near future, England is in the midst of a civil war. In legend, it's said that King Arthur will return when the nation most needs a leader. That time has come. It's time for the Revolution.

When a young woman discovers that she is the daughter of an infamous General, she sets out to transform herself into a leader of the people, a leader to bring hope to a nation broken by war.

The action begins conventionally, on the Crucible stage, but as the drama unfolds, the audience will be led out into Tudor Square to witness the start of a revolution which reaches its fierce and dramatic conclusion in the Peace Gardens, in the battle to end all battles.

If you have a bold heart that's ready for adventure, tickets can be purchased from Sheffield Theatres' Box Office on 0114 249 6000 or online at sheffieldtheatres.co.uk and are just £15.00 (a transaction fee of £1.50 (£1.00 online) applies to all bookings made at the Box Office, excl. cash).
