The Belgrade's Young Company production of The Tempest takes to the stage in the B2 Auditorium from Monday 3 - Saturday 8 March with the brightest stars of the Youth talent team performing a fast-paced and physical interpretation of Shakespeare's classic comedy.

Marking the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth, the Belgrade's Young Company have created this production of The Tempest in conjunction with Frantic Assembly, renowned for their unique physical style which combines with movement, design, music and text.

Associate Director, Justine Themen explains, "One of the joys of the process has been to see young people take ownership of the language - taking pleasure in the sound and images which has allowed them to build their understanding and inform the physicality of their performances. We are also delighted to have been working in association with Frantic Assembly who have brought their unique style right to the heart of this production."

The Belgrade Theatre has a strong history of Youth Theatre, with the first groups being set up by the Theatre in Education Company as part of their service for young people in the 1960s. The theatre currently runs several 'in-house' and 'outreach' youth theatre projects alongside the Belgrade Young Company which was established to provide young people with the opportunity to experience projects more closely mirroring the environment of a professional rehearsal and production process.

The Tempest is the fourth production from the Belgrade's Young Company which features some of the city's most promising young actors. It will be performed on the B2 Stage from Monday 3 - Saturday 8 March at 6pm with a matinee on Saturday 8 March at 2pm. Tickets are free but with a request for donations to support the work of the Belgrade Community & Education Company.

Seats are unreserved but must be booked through the box office on 024 7655 3055 or via www.belgrade.co.uk.
