This October at the Belgrade Theatre is jam-packed with events, workshops and shows to keep the little ones entertained during the half-term holidays!

On Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 October, there will be spooky goings-on as they delve into the history and horror of Ghosts and Ghouls in their October Half-Term Camp. This two-day holiday camp for ages 8 - 13 will challenge participants to create a short, Halloween-inspired performance to frighten their family and friends!

With drama games and physical activities to stretch their creativity and test their imagination, it will also be an opportunity for young people to improve their confidence, learn new skills and make friends. The holiday camp will be led by experienced practitioners and no previous theatre experience is necessary in order to take part.

Also during half-term, families will have the chance to learn about black female pioneers in a free story-telling event on Monday 24 Oct at 2pm. Recommended for children aged 5 - 10, Black Sheroes of History will tell the stories of inspirational icons such as Wilma Rudolph, Bessie Coleman and Mary Seacole, shining a spotlight on the remarkable achievements of women from all walks of life.

Sheroes of History was the idea of Naomi Wilcox-Lee who wanted to draw attention to the female role models for our past to inspire young girls, and boys, today. It is part of a wider programme of events taking place at the Belgrade Theatre to this month to mark Black History Month. There is limited availability for this event so please arrive early for a chance to take part.

On Thursday 27 Oct, the theatre will be opening its doors once again for another Curious Kids Family Fun Day. With Christmas nearly upon us, the theatre will be theming it's Family Fun Day around this year's magical Belgrade pantomime, Dick Whittington!

This free, all-day event will be filled with fun activities to get involved in. Get your face-painted to look like Dick Whittington's cat, try on real stage costumes at the Rags to Riches Dressing Up Station, come and listen to some fabulous fairy-tales in their Storytelling Corner, make your own Queen Rat Crown at their Craft Table, follow the streets paved with gold on a Family Trail and learn how to be a pantomime actor in their Drama Games Workshops!

For more information about any of these activities, please visit www.belgrade.co.uk or call the Belgrade's Box Office team 024 7655 3055. Places must be booked in advance for the October Half-Term Camp, priced at £50 per child for the full two days.
