Andrew Upton's new adaptation for Sydney Theatre Company of the 1907 French farce, A Flea in Her Ear by Georges Feydeau, is realised in all its clockwork-precision by the creative team behind STC's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead: director Simon Phillips, designer Gabriela Tylesova and lighting designer Nick Schlieper. Performances are at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House from 31 October to 17 December (opening 4 November 2016).

When Raymonde (Harriet Dyer) suspects her husband Victor Emanuel (David Woods) of having an affair, she colludes with best friend Lucienne (Helen Christinson) to lay the perfect trap to catch him with his pants down at the notoriously seedy Snatch Time Hotel. But their scheme goes spectacularly wrong in a vertiginous romp of mistaken identity.

From a seethingly jealous husband (Justin Smith) to an afflicted and exasperated cousin (Harry Greenwood), from a lecherous businessman (Tim Walter) to a frustrated maid (Kelly Paterniti), it seems pretty much everyone is engaged in amorous entanglements. A beautiful whirlwind of chaos ensues, compounded by mischievous doubling.

Harriet Dyer's work with STC has included roles in Hay Fever, Travelling North, Pygmalion and Machinal, for which she won the 2013 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Actress. She is well known for roles in television shows Love Child, Black Comedy, No Activity, Janet King, Packed to the Rafters, A Moody Christmas and Micro Nation. David Woods was last seen at STC in Back to Back Theatre's Super Discount and previously appeared in Pygmalion and Optimism. Co-Artistic Director of the award winning company, Ridiculusmus, he is currently on screen in Network Ten's The Wrong Girl.
