Music By The Sea to Stage World Premiere of TOWARDS ELYSIUM CONCERT with Acacia Quartet, 7/5

Acacia Quartet includes Lisa Stewart (violin) Myee Clohessy (violin) Stefan Duwe (viola) and Anna Martin-Scrase (cello). The concert will take place July 5 at 7:30pm at Sandgate Town Hall. Tickets and info here.

The CD was just released on iTunes, CD will be released in mid July. Music By The Sea is proud to stage the WORLD PREMIERE performance of the album.

Lyle's music is breathtaking and moving. When in 2012 Acacia Quartet performed at Music By The Sea, they played one piece by Lyle, where the audience was astounded by the depth of emotions his music brings.

In 2013 Acacia Quartet was nominated for both, ARIA and Arts Music Awards for Excellence. Their CDs feature regularly on ABC Classics, Fine Music 102.5 and Qantas In-flight Entertainment. Acacia's CD 'Blue Silence' of the complete works for string quartet by Elena Kats-Chernin received recognition as Limelight Magazine's Editor's Choice and was chosen as CD of the Week on ABC Classics.

Acacia Quartet developed a special relationship with Elena Kats-Chernin after she heard them perform her music in 2011 and then invited Acacia to make the world-premiere recording of her complete works for string quartet. Likewise, composer Lyle Chan and Vexations840 also chose Acacia Quartet to record Chan's String Quartet - An AIDS Activist's Memoir In Music.
