Bachelor of Science in Screenwriting & Playwriting


The Westphal College Screenwriting & Playwriting program guides students in their pursuit of a career writing for the stage or screen. The program emphasizes the principles of dramatic writing through a practical hands-on approach to instruction. Our graduates take away the skills, experience, and confidence to gain an edge in a rewarding and competitive field. Students first acquire the essential skills of dramatic story telling, then apply those abilities to the creation of scripts that conform to professional standards. Drexel's pioneering co-op affords hands-on experience in the field, working alongside professional artists. Drexel marks the beginning of the life-long process of developing a writer's eye that sees the world from a different angle and allows writers to tell their own uniquely compelling stories.
