On May 12th company members from the national tour of The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess presented Inspired By Love: The Music of Brett Macias Upstairs at Vitellos, benefiting Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP). Inspired By Love featured selections from composer Brett Macias's musicals Gumbo, Beautiful Dreamer, and Beneath the Surface as well as a world premiere song cycle based on the love sonnets of Pablo Neruda. On Saturday, May 3, NYC Parks' Urban Park Rangers joined hundreds of kids and their families in Inwood Hill Park for the 5th annual Urban Wildlife Appreciation Day. The day was an opportunity for New Yorkers of all ages to meet the feathered, furry, and scaly inhabitants of their city's parks and open spaces. Attendees were able to interact with a screech owl, porcupine, red-tailed hawk, baby possum, kestrel, snapping turtle, skunk, peregrine falcon, and other animals; learn about the best places in New York City and New York State to observe wildlife; participate in kids' activities; and listen to live musical performances. But when one of those people shows up at Dr. Goodwin's (Jack McBrayer, '30 Rock,' 'Wreck It Ralph') office for a dental checkup, Frankie tries to keep up the charade, which leaves her new employer completely perplexed. Meanwhile, Axl discovers that Sue has a perfect attendance record at school and convinces her to ditch a day to live life on the edge; Dr. Fulton (Dave Foley) tries to find out why Brick is so opposed to going to middle school; and Mike and Axl's fishing trip takes a turn for the worse when a distraction causes Mike to crash the boat he's towing, wedging it into a ditch, on WEDNESDAY, MAY 15 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET) on ABC.
