Last night, the Broadway at Birdland concert series presented Broadway/television leading man Cheyenne Jackson on the stage of the historic music room for the first of two shows. The second show will take place tonight, Monday, December 2, at 9:15pm. This is the New York celebration for his recently-released album, 'I'm Blue, Skies.' Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director, and Tristan Wilson, Managing Director, presents a workshop production of the new musical The Black Suits with music and lyrics by Joe Iconis and book by Joe Iconis and Robert Emmett Maddock. The Black Suits is part of Barrington Stage's Musical Theatre Lab, William Finn, Artistic Producer. Directed by John Simpkins, choreographed by Jennifer Werner, with musical direction by James Sampliner, The Black Suits is currently running through September 2 at BSC's St. Germain Stage (formerly Stage 2). FINIAN'S RAINBOW star Cheyenne Jackson will be joining the cast of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series '30 Rock' next month. Jackson's first episode on the hit comedy series will on Thursday November 12th. The episode is titled 'THE PROBLEM SOLVERS' and will also feature Top Chef star Padma Lakshmi.

It was announced earlier this month that the new musical VANITIES will receive an original cast album. The three-woman cast of the show, which recently performed its New York premiere Off-Broadway at Second Stage Theatre, headed into studio yesterday to record the album for Sh-K-Boom Records.

A sold-out audience of over 550 people attended the annual benefit, 'Footlights and Film: A Celebration of the Great Musicals from Stage and Screen,' hosted by Julia Roberts and featuring a special tribute to Angela Lansbury presented by Bernadette Peters, at Westport Country Playhouse, Westport, CT (Joanne Woodward and Anne Keefe, artistic directors, Jodi Schoenbrun Carter, managing director) on Monday evening, September 15. The fundraiser grossed $1,407,610, including revenue from tickets, donations and silent auctions.
