SHN Announces Harry POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE in Concert

SHN announced today that Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone in Concert will be coming to Davies Symphony Hall on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 8pm and Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 1pm as part of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series. The concert will feature a live symphony orchestra performing, to picture, every note from Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. Audiences can relive the magic of the entire film in high definition on a 40-foot screen while the orchestra performs every note of John Williams' unforgettable score to picture live on stage. The Fox Theatre today announces its 2017 Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival schedule featuring family-friendly titles sure to entice both kids and those who are kids at heart. Guests will be singing a tune with sing-a-long versions of Walt Disney's animated gem "Beauty and the Beast," as well as the Julie Andrews' timeless classic "Mary Poppins." Additionally, wizards and muggles alike will be mesmerized as all eight "Harry Potter" films will be showing at the Fox Theatre with triple- and double-headers throughout August. The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) announced its 2017/18 season to a packed house in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre earlier this evening. The Orchestra's third annual, free Season Preview Concert once again featured the entire orchestra onstage performing selected excerpts, with emcee Music Director Ward Stare joined for the first time by Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik. For anyone who has ever loved the character of Peter Pan, reading PETER AND THE STARCATCHER is probably quite a fun experience. For someone like me, who has never been particularly fond of this character, reading PETER AND THE STARCATCHER was difficult. I sort of got where they were going, but I definitely didn't get all in the ins and outs of the story. It's sort of like reading HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS, before reading HARRY POTTER AND The Sorcerer'S STONE. You get the idea, but you're just a bit lost in the magic of it all.
