MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) today announced that single tickets have gone on sale for the New York Premiere of John Pollono's celebrated Small Engine Repair, the comic thriller that premiered to rave reviews and sold-out audiences at L.A.'s Rogue Machine Theatre, where it won the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for Playwriting, among many other honors. Keegan Allen, James Badge Dale, playwright/actor John Pollono, and James Ransone star in the production directed by longtime MCC collaborator Jo Bonney (MCC's The Break of Noon, Some Girl(s), Fat Pig). Small Engine Repair begins at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on October 30, 2013. An official opening night is set for November 20, 2013. (more...)

Judith Light Joins MCC's Board of Directors

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) just announced that two-time Tony Award winner Judith Light (The Assembled Parties, Other Desert Cities) has been elected to the MCC Board of Directorseffective immediately. Ms. Light began her relationship with MCC in 1999 with a universally-acclaimed performance in Margaret Edson's Wit, and most recently in March 2013 was the honoree at MCC's annual Miscast gala celebrating her illustrious screen and stage career; her appearances in MCC productions, which in addition to Wit includes 2005's Colder Than Here; and her impassioned advocacy of several causes, most especially Arts in Education. MCC THEATER announced today that the New York Premiere of John Pollono's Small Engine Repair will now play through December 21, 2013. Keegan Allen, James Badge Dale, playwright/actor John Pollono, and James Ransone star in the production directed by longtime MCC collaborator Jo Bonney (MCC's The Break of Noon, Fat Pig). Small Engine Repair at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) had its official opening night on November 20, 2013 and was previously extended through December 15, 2013. MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) has just announced that Leslie Bibb (Iron Man, ABC's 'GCB') and Jenna Fischer (NBC's 'The Office') will be making their New York City stage debuts opposite Josh Hamilton (The Coast of Utopia) and Fred Weller (MCC's Still Life and In a Dark Dark House) in the world premiere of MCC Playwright-in-Residence Neil LaBute's new play, Reasons to Be Happy, which LaBute will also direct. Reasons to Be Happy is a companion piece to LaBute's critically-acclaimed award-winning play, Reasons to Be Pretty, first produced at MCC Theater in 2008 before moving to Broadway where it was nominated for three 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Play. Performances begin today for the MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) New York premiere production of Paul Downs Colaizzo's Really Really, directed by David Cromer (the Obie Award and Lucille Lortel Award-winning director of hits Our Town, Adding Machine and Tribes). The production, which marks Colaizzo's New York playwriting debut, plays at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) through March 10, 2013. An official opening is set for Tuesday, February 19th at 7:00 p.m. As announced on January 29th, the world premiere of Really Really, which opened in February 2012 at the Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre in D.C., has been nominated for 'The Charles MacArthur Award for Outstanding New Play or Musical' at this year's Helen Hayes Awards. MCC Theater Completes REALLY REALLY Casting: Matt Lauria, Zosia Mamet and More

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) announced today that Matt Lauria (NBC's "Friday Night Lights" & "Parenthood"), Zosia Mamet (HBO's "Girls", AMC's "Mad Men"), Lauren Culpepper (Signature's Really Really), David Hull (Broadway's Wicked & How to Succeed…), Evan Jonigkeit (Broadway's High with Kathleen Turner), Kobi Libii (Off-Broadway's CQ/CX), and Aleque Reid (Hair 1st National Tour) will star in the New York premiere production of Really Really by Paul Downs Colaizzo. The production, which marks Colaizzo's New York playwriting debut, is directed by David Cromer, the Obie Award and Lucille Lortel Award-winning director of hits Our Town, Adding Machine and Tribes. Performances of Really Really begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on January 31, 2013 and continue through March 10, 2013. MTC's THE SNOW GEESE Begins Final Week of Performances

Manhattan Theatre Club and MCC Theater's world premiere of Sharr White's THE SNOW GEESE, begins the final week of its acclaimed engagement at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). MCC THEATER has announced that indie film star Greta Gerwig will now lead the cast of the American premiere of Penelope Skinner's celebrated play The Village Bike, the final production of MCC's 2013-14 Main Stage season. The Village Bike will be directed by Sam Gold, who recently directed the much-raved new musical Fun Home.
