Sometimes the stars align and the universe grants us the rare opportunity to see an actor in a role that they were born to play one day. To say that Bill Nolte is 'Tony Esposito' is the understatement of the year. If you don't get misty eyed during his 'Mama, Mama' or in the last 15 minutes of this show, I will buy you a drink at the Gelston House after the show (Hey Goodspeed, I can borrow that corporate credit card just in case right?). Bill is also one hell of a great guy and someone you'd just love to sit down and enjoy a glass of wine with for the stories alone. Ross Valley Players is proud to open their 2013 - 2014 season with the Tony Award nominated play, Chapter Two, a story about love and second chances by renowned playwright Neil Simon. This semi-autobiographical play is seasoned with plenty of Neil Simon's wit and an honest understanding of human emotions. Chapter Two matches George, a widowed New York novelist, and Jennie, a recently divorced actress, who are pushed together by his brother Leo and her neurotic married friend Faye. What follows is a Seesaw courtship that provides love and laughs in this very human and ultimately touching comedy. Chapter Two begins with a preview on Thursday, September 12 and runs through Sunday, October 13. Opening Night is Today, September 13 at 8PM. (more...)

Quick Curtains closes out the ten year anniversary season for The Group Theatre Too (Michael Blevins, Artistic Director; Justin Boccitto, Executive Producer). On December 9, 2013 92Y celebrates songwriting legend Mike Stoller on the occasion of his 80th year with An 80th Birthday Celebration, a one-night-only Lyrics & Lyricists Special Event hosted by Paul Shaffer and directed and written by Randy Johnson (director/writer of A Night with Janis Joplin). Confirmed artists performing expected and unexpected interpretations from Stoller's genre-spanning career in blues, R&B, rock 'n' roll and jazz include legendary vocal group The Coasters, along with artists Karen Akers, Mary Bridget Davies, Corky Hale, Maria Elena Infantino, Sally Kellerman, Bettye LaVette, Melissa Manchester, Billy Stritch, Tommy Tune and Steve Tyrell. Backed by Tyrell's band, the artists perform some of the greatest songs written by Stoller with his longtime lyricist partner Jerry Leiber and others. Leiber will be the subject of a special tribute during the evening. Stoller is planning to be in attendance for the celebration. (more...)

Breckenridge, President and CEO of Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS), announced today the nominations and presenters for TUTS' 12th annual Tommy Tune Awards which will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. Developed by TUTS, the Tommy Tune Awards honor musical theatre excellence at the high school level. Co-hosts for the award ceremony include Jim Bernhard and Sarah Pepper. Bernhard has written several original productions that have debuted at TUTS and authored the theatrical history Stars in Your Eyes. Pepper is the morning host of The Hot Show on HOT 95.7 FM. MakerBot Thingiverse Announces Math Manipulative Challenge Winners
