Actors Co-op (Ovation Award-Winner 2015 Best Intimate Theatre Musical for 110 in the Shade) is thrilled to announce the first show in its 2015-2016 season (and 24th year of producing theatrical excellence in Los Angeles!) with THE BAKER'S WIFE, book by Joseph Stein (Fiddler on the Roof, Zorba), music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell), musical direction by Jake Anthony, choreography by Julie Hall, produced by Kimi Walker and directed by Ovation Award-winner Richard Israel (110 in the Shade, Floyd Collins). THE BAKER'S WIFE opens tonight, September 18 at 8pm and run through Sunday, October 25 at the Actors Co-op David Schall Theatre, 1760 N. On the heels of a successful run of their first cabaret act, Look Who's in Love, distinguished entertainers Christine Reisner-Rebic (an international cabaret chanteuse and dancer) and Don Rebic (Broadway and cabaret musical director, jazz pianist and composer) took their cabaret act into the recording studio. "Lucky in Love" features timeless standards as well as four songs of their own: "You're Making Me Nervous," "Two Heads Are Better Than One," "Leap of Faith" and the title track, "Lucky in Love." Gallery Players continues its 48th season with a production of the musical, The Baker's Wife. Based on the film La Femme de Boulanger by Marcel Pagnol and Jean Giono, The Baker's Wife features music and lyrics byStephen Schwartz (Wicked) and a book by Joseph Stein (Fiddler of the Roof). A modern day fable of love that has remained a cult favorite, the musical features the songs 'Meadowlark' and 'Proud Lady,' amongst the many other hidden treasures in this musical. This rarely produced musical will warm the hearts of romantics and cynics alike because this is story is not about true love but about the truth in love and how it shapes us. SCHMIDT are among the 2015 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, May 1, at 6:30pm, at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Mr. Goldstein was selected to receive the 2015 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design and Mr. Schmidt will receive the Robert L.B. The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) announces Broadway and Cabaret legend Barbara Cook will appear at its annual Gala on Sat., May 31. Ms. Cook's highly anticipated performance will take place at 9 p.m. following an elegant dinner in the SOPAC Loft at 6 p.m., coupled with an online and live auction of unique and precious gifts and experiences. Families will join the celebration during the day with a Super-Hero workshop by Kidville at 10:30 a.m. and a free performance by fun and funky musician Bobby Beetcut at noon.
