Constance Cooper to Perform Solo Set of Poems at the Bowery Poetry Club, 9/14

On September 14, 2014, Constance Cooper will appear as a soloist in the 9/11 Cultural Festival in a solo set of poems about violence and loss by the Polish Nobel-prizewinning poet Wyslawa Szymborska. Miss Cooper will play her signature setup, a piano and an electric keyboard tuned a quartertone apart, used for its remarkable ability to capture the elusive quasi-pitches of the speaking voice. Daily Challenge from MeYou Health Proven Effective in Improving Well-Being

The results of a new study released today by the American Journal of Preventive Medicine Show the positive effects of an online social network based program in improving individual well-being. Findings from the randomized controlled trial demonstrate that Daily Challenge from MeYou Health (a subsidiary of Healthways (HWAY)) measurably improves the well-being of participants, particularly those who engage socially with other Daily Challenge participants. The Flying Carpet Theatre (FCT) presents the New York premiere of THE Medicine ShowDOWN, a new play by Topher Payne and Adam Koplan that interweaves a traditional story (inspired by Henrik Ibsen's classic 'Enemy of the People') with scenes from a turn-of-the-century Medicine Show, complete with tap dance, old time melodrama, country music and vaudevillian comedy. Stable Cable Lab Co. and Vera Khodasevich announce the cast and creative team for the workshop production of Accidents Waiting to Happen, a play by Jonathan Libman, directed by Padraic Lillis. Invited presentations for Accidents Waiting to Happen will begin on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at IRT Theater and are scheduled to run through Sunday, June 8, 2014. The results of the workshop production - including the actors' experience with the work, the aesthetics of the director and designers, and the audience's feedback - will be invaluable to the development of this new play.
