Freya Barker Releases Contemporary Romance Novel, CRUEL WATER
by BWW News Desk - Mar 18, 2016

Author Freya Barker is pleased to announce the release of her new contemporary romance novel, Cruel Water. This is the second book in her Portland, ME series. Innocence marked her... Violation crippled her... Love left her raw... The life she carefully rebuilt is challenged when she is confronted with the sins from her past. The carefully applied protection is at once ripped away, leaving her exposed and vulnerable. Her single night of indulgence with the silver-eyed stranger is only the beginning. He sees right to the heart of her and she is unable to ward off emotions that have been deeply buried. With the sting of betrayal still fresh in her soul, she's surprised to find herself opening up to the honest integrity of the sharp-eyed, rough-looking biker. When he lost everyone who mattered, he was left without roots and learned to be content simply living in the moment. Completely unprepared for the feisty blonde bartender with old pain marring her clear-Blue Eyes, he questions his own rules of detachment, as she unwittingly finds a way under his skin. Appearances deceive and when the masks fall away, revealing deep, dark secrets, there is nothing left but to hang onto each other and survive the storm. **Due to content of a sexually explicit nature, this book is recommended for a mature audience only.** Book Details: Cruel Water Portland, ME, novels Book 2 By Freya Barker Publisher: Freya Barker Published: March 3, 2016 ISBN: 978-0994951427 ASIN: B01AKPA23O Pages: 388 Genre: Contemporary Romance, Women's Fiction About The Author: Freya Barker inspires with her stories about 'real' people, perhaps less than perfect, each struggling to find their own slice of happy. "Everyone who just got out is really happy, and another group is getting ready to come in," Robin said to me. Robin is tall, and thin, with enormous Blue Eyes and a head full of curls. BWW Review: Political and Social Satirist Katie Goodman Definitely Doesn't 'F*ck It Up' In Her Hilarious Show at Stage 72
by Victoria Ordin - Jul 1, 2016

If Lorelai Gilmore, with her lightning fast speech, did political satire while rapping and playing both the piano and acoustic guitar, it would look something like Katie Goodman's hybrid comedy and cabaret act. Her latest show, I Didn't F*ck It Up, ran at Stage 72 (The Triad) on June 17, her cabaret home in the city. The liberal Jewish daughter of Pulitzer-winning Boston Globe journalist Ellen Goodman is a longtime Park Slope mom who co-writes songs with husband Soren Kisel and leads the all-woman troupe, Broad Comedy. The whip-smart, wisecracking brunette with Blue Eyes and more than a passing resemblance to Gilmore Girls and Parenthood star, Lauren Graham, is a like a female Andy Borowitz—or John Fuselgang, who had a career in cabaret long before he became famous for his lacerating comic critiques of conservative politics.
