The WHOLE BACKSTAGE THEATRE is proud to announce auditions for it's summer musical, 'Annie Warbucks,' Friday March 6th at 6:30PM for adults and Saturday March 7th beginning with children's auditions at 10AM and following with adults and children at 2:00pm. Sunday, March 8th will be used for callbacks if needed. Picking up right where our record-breaking holiday production of 'Annie' left off, Oliver 'Daddy' Warbucks (Ken Patterson), a hard-nosed billionaire with a heart of gold, receives the troubling news that the law requires he marry within sixty days, or his newly adopted daughter (Laura Kate Smith) will be returned to the orphanage from which she came. It's then a race against time as Warbucks and his staff feverishly search for a bride, all while a stubborn Child Welfare Commissioner has her hand on the dial. (more...)

Mark McVey as Valjean, Lea Michele as Éponine, Brian Stokes Mitchell as Javert, Sage Ryan as Gavroche and John Lloyd Young as Marius. Rosie O'Donnell, who was to play the role of Madame Thenardier, has withdrawn from the performances in order to care for her eldest son, who broke his wrist. Shelly Burch Returns To NYC W/ A Show At Metropolitain Room

Shelly Burch has returned to New York with a vengeance. Last month she costarred at the 92nd Street Y's Lyrics and Lyricists: Rodgers & and this month she is starring in a weeklong cabaret engagement at the Metropolitan Room, February 25 thru March 2. The evening is produced and directed by her husband, Martin Charnin. This new act takes a musical look at the many aspects of love-from those exciting first moments made in a new relationship, to the choices a woman makes as she confronts a career and children, to the wonderful calm that comes when love is allowed to enter one's life, with no holds barred and no questions asked...when love and love alone becomes the answer. Shelly Burch received critical acclaim as the original Claudia in the musical Nine directed by Tommy Tune.
