Though not a native Texan, McLure is known as a premier Texas playwright because he graduated from SMU's theatre department in 1973 and his best-known plays are prized for their precise capture of the feel and character of West Texas. Not to mention the great southern humor running through every page! McLure died in February of this year from cancer. He was 59.

It seems only appropriate that Rochester's Geva Theatre Center would transition from Arthur Miller's The Price to August Wilson's Two Trains Running; comparatively speaking, however, Wilson has given Miller a run for his money. Ron OJ Parson's exhilarating production of Two Trains Running, the fourth fully mounted play of Geva's celebration of Wilson and the seventh in his famed Pittsburgh Cycle, gives its audience what The Price never could: an entertaining, well-paced, and (dare I say) priceless night of theater.
For old-world cabaret, performers still swoon over the stately, romantic elegance of the Oak Room at the Algonquin, but this sleek, two-year-old spot is threatening to encroach on the turf of such established institutions.
