On the heels of the 75th Anniversary tribute to The Wizard of Oz at the Academy Awards, The Ridgefield Playhouse will follow suit by presenting the famed story for children of all ages on Saturday, May 3, at 11 a.m. & 2 p.m. In a musical adaptation of the classic 'The Wizard of Oz', the story will come to life for the young-at-heart. The songs featured in this beloved tale include 'Soup's On', 'Somewhere', 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road' and 'It's So Easy to be a Witch'. Doktor Kaboom will prove that science can be fun when the stage production Doktor Kaboom!, which cleverly blends the wonders of science with theatre, comes to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Wednesday, May 7, at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. This event is ideal for grades 2 - 8.

JetBlue Airways (JBLU), New York's Hometown Airline, today announces its fifth annual Swing For Good Golf Classic and Bid For Good online charitable auction, the airline'smajor fundraising campaign of the year. Swing For Good began as a friendly competition between JetBlue and its business partners, with the ultimate goal of making a difference and raising funds for non-profit organizations. This year's recipients are KaBOOM! and First Book.

Today, The Creative Coalition selected the award-winning and critically-acclaimed feature, THE DIRTIES, for the organization's prestigious 2013 Spotlight Initiative Film Slate. The movie is directed by Matt Johnson, who stars in the film alongside Owen Williams. Johnson also wrote the film along with Evan Morgan and Josh Boles. Matthew Miller, Johnson, Morgan, and Jared Raab are producers. THE DIRTIES made its world premiere at the 2013 Slamdance Film Festival, where it won the Narrative Grand Jury Prize. XYZ Films represented the film at Slamdance and sold it to Phase 4 Films, who will release it October 4, 2013 in theaters and on VOD via its distribution partnership with acclaimed filmmaker Kevin Smith (CLERKS, RED STATE) through the Kevin Smith Movie Club.

JetBlue Airways (JBLU), New York's Hometown Airline, today announced a commitment to build three playgrounds in areas devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Dozens of cities in New York and New Jersey are still struggling to rebuild. With essential infrastructure such as hospitals, schools and roads being the primary focus, playgrounds and play spaces take a lower priority. Following natural disasters, play becomes even more critical as it creates a sense of normalcy and provides an emotional outlet for kids. In an effort to support the affected children, JetBlue has extended its pledge to rebuild New York with a commitment to build three playgrounds during 2013 in areas impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

What's that? Is it a bird? No, it's not Thanksgiving Turkey taken flight! Is it a plane?! No, it's SUPERGLEE! Up, up, and a-Glee-way! Blaine leads a meeting of the Superhero Club, only to have the meeting throttled by crisis in Gleeville! Shock, wham, kaboom! Seems the New Directions Nationals trophy has been stolen! What fiend would do such a thing?! The voice of a shadow faced blazer wearing villain taunts and Night Bird (also known as Blaine) goes to Dalton to get the the trophy back from the clutches of the dastardly dapper boys known as the Warblers. However, the villain is not the former foe, Sebastian (Grant Gustin), but a new villain - the not even bi-curious new captain, Hunter Carrington (Nolan Gerard Funk) who taunts Blaine with a return to the Warblers, leading Blaine to perform 'Dark Side' by Kelly Clarkson, which could spell doom for our mighty hero! Nothing more tragic than a superhero turned super villain! In the midst of all the superhero shenanigans, Finn is struggling in his new role as glee club advisor, and decides to take a page from the current obsession with superheroes and use it in glee club - this week's theme: Dynamic Duets! Kitty takes it upon herself to pick a song for herself and Marley, but Marley isn't so sure working with her arch nemesis is such a good idea. Two bitter foes, Ryder and Jake, locked in battle over the lovely Marley's affections take to the glee club floor with 'I Am Superman' and ends up being anything but super the heroes turn foes and down and break out in a fight. Wham! Thus, the mighty Treble Clef (Finn) takes the wannabe heroes and forces them to get some kryptonite on each other to get to know each other better and turn from friend to foe.
