Saratoga Springs, NY -- Opera Saratoga, in partnership with the literary organization Words After War, will present a writing workshop to civilians, veterans and military families today and tomorrow, July 11 and July 12, 2015 at The New York State Military Museum in Saratoga Springs, NY. The two-day event will be held in conjunction with the world premiere of The Long Walk, by Composer Jeremy Howard Beck and Librettist Stephanie Fleischmann. The opera is based upon the critically acclaimed memoir of war and homecoming by Brian Castner.

Outdoor summer entertainment venue Music by the Lake, presented by George Williams College of Aurora University, announces its 15th annual season presenting six artist debuts and a range of musical genres and shows, including American classics, jazz, contemporary rock, comedy for families, pop and classic rock. Over 200 people came together this week in central Florida to roll up their sleeves, swing hammers and wield power tools all in an effort to build a brand new playground in just one day. Thanks to Nathan's Famous and KaBOOM!, along with support from the City of Kissimmee, Community Vision, and many volunteers, the youth and community of Kissimmee can now enjoy a new, Coney Island themed playspace. Designed by the real play experts local children the playground is located at the Mark E. Durbin Community Park at Lakeside, adjacent to Cypress Elementary School. It is the first playground funded by the world famous hot dog company and a key element of Ready. Set.
