Aurora Theatre Company to Present AMERICAN BUFFALO, 6/13-7/13

Closing Aurora Theatre Company's 22nd season is David Mamet's powerful, fast-paced drama AMERICAN BUFFALO. Tony-nominated director Barbara Damashek, who helmed Aurora Theatre Company's acclaimed productions of Fat Pig and Private Jokes, Public Places, returns to direct AMERICAN BUFFALO, featuring James Carpenter (John Gabriel Borkman, The Master Builder, The Birthday Party, The Homecoming), Paul Vincent O'Connor (Death Defying Acts, National Tour August: Osage County), and Rafael Jordan. Unorganized Crime, LLC announces that Tony Award-nominated actress Elizabeth Rodriguez (Broadway's The Motherf**ker With the Hat) will star opposite Academy Award-nominee Chazz Palminteri ( 'A Bronx Tale,' 'Bullets Over Broadway') in the world premiere play, Unorganized Crime, written by Kenny D'Aquila and directed by David Fofi. Unorganized Crime will now preview tonight, May 3 at 8pm; Sunday, May 4 at 7pm; Tuesday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 7 at 8pm and will open on Thursday, May 8 at 7pm and run through Saturday, May 31 at the Elephant Theatre, 1076 N. Lillian Way. (at Santa Monica Blvd., one block west of Vine) in Hollywood.

The stage premiere of Shakespeare in Love will open at London's Noel Coward Theatre in the summer of 2014. This new play will be adapted for the stage by Lee Hall from the screenplay by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard. Declan Donnellan will direct and the production will be designed by Nick Ormerod. Shakespeare in Love will be produced by Disney Theatrical Productions and Sonia Friedman Productions.

Today 10th November 2013 Scottish star Bill Patterson opens the first exhibition celebrating the alterNative Theatre movement of the sixties, seventies and eighties opens at Ovalhouse. The exhibition runs until 20th December before moving to Camden Local History Library and Archives, High Holborn in early 2014. Before becoming a familiar face on stage, film and television, Bill Patterson was a founding member of John McGrath's 7:84 company whose 1970s work The Cheviot, The Stag and The Black Black Oil had a profound effect on post-war British Theatre.

Opening today, February 6, the series will include 20 on-stage conversations, 50 film screenings, and an interactive experience in which the museum will become a Memory Palace. While illusion is usually associated with vision, the series will engage audiences through all five senses to provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject.
