After the critical success of Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Northern Broadsides' resisdent director Conrad Nelson and playwright Deborah McAndrew once again team up to bring their unique brand of Northern inventiveness and humour to the stage with A Government Inspector, a Yorkshire take on Gogol's fantastical satire The Government Inspector. Created in partnership with Harrogate Theatres, the production premieres at Harrogate Theatre from 7 - 22 September before embarking on an English national tour until December 1st. It was a night of new victors and returning champions at 'The 45th Annual CMA Awards' Wednesday night in Nashville. Taylor Swift won her second CMA Entertainer of the Year trophy. Newlyweds Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton won Female Vocalist and Male Vocalist for the second consecutive year. Jason Aldean won his first two CMA Awards for Musical Event of the Year with Kelly Clarkson, and Album of the Year for My Kinda Party.

American Heartland Theatre will bring Roger Bean's award winning, cotton candy-colored, non-stop pop musical, The Marvelous Wonderettes, to Kansas City. Featuring four fabulous talents - Molly Denninghoff, Colleen Grate, Liz Clark Golson and Jessalyn Kincaid - as the crinoline-clad girl-group, The Wonderettes, with direction by Jerry Jay Cranford. AHT is pleased to continue the tradition of supporting local and regional talent in the second production in their 25th anniversary season.

New York City Opera General Manager and Artistic Director George Steel today announced the company's 2010-2011 season, which spotlights American composers and 20th-century works within a mix of world premieres, New York premieres and new productions. Offering audiences the opportunity to experience new and rarely performed operas as well as modern interpretations of traditional repertoire, the 2010-2011 season will also feature the launch of a concert series showcasing the non-operatic works of several of the composers of this season's operas. Taking advantage of the possibilities offered by the recent renovation of the company's home, the David H. Koch Theater, the concert series expands the repertoire and programming of City Opera and casts new light on the season's productions.
