The Frist Center for the Visual Arts' 2012 exhibition schedule offers a wide variety of exhibitions in the Center's Ingram Gallery. These include masterpieces of American art from the famed Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C.; an exhibition combining quilts from Gee's Bend, Ala., and the monumental assemblages of Alabama native Thornton Dial; works on paper from self- taught artist Bill Traylor, also from Alabama; and a major Frist-organized retrospective of the work of internationally acclaimed photographer, Carrie Mae Weems.

Theatre in the Square reveals the 30th Season and Commemorative Logo

The 2011-12 Season will mark Theatre in the Square's 30th anniversary season. The season will open with On Golden Pond (August 10 - September 11, 2011), which was the first production the theatre produced in September 1982. The additional four Main Stage productions include Ghost-Writer (September 28 - October 20, 2011); The Ladies Man (January 18 - February 26, 2012), based on the classic farce by Georges Feydeau, Tailleur Pour Dames; Flyin' West (March 7 - April 8, 2012),by Atlanta's own Pearl Cleage; and a fifth show to be announced, which will run April 25 - May 27, 2012. Jack Thomas, currently a producer of the hit Off-Broadway play FREUD'S LAST SESSION, is presenting an exhibition of artist Charlotte Lichtblau's paintings, which opened on June 28th at St. Mary the Virgin in the heart of Times Square at 145 West 46th Street. The show, entitled SEEING AND BELIEVING, concludes today, July 31st with admission from 2 to 6 PM. This exhibition is curated by Bruce Payne, Executive Director, The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation.
