The Museum of Art and Design at Miami Dade College (MOAD MDC) in collaboration with the Miami Book Fair will present Poetry and Jazz, an evening of words and music with legendary American poet Jack Hirschman. Writer, editor, translator, musician, and political activist, Hirschman will perform with longtime collaborators, the Terni Jazz Orchestra Ensemble. Produced in collaboration with the Miami Book Fair, Poetry and Jazz will have one performance on Saturday, April 28 at 7 p.m. at the North Beach Bandshell in Miami Beach. Admission is free.

Butler (Finn the Fearless), Joel Esher (PharmaBro: an American Douchical!), Alex Fast (The Drawer Boy), Jo Lampert (Joan of Arc: Into The Fire), Barrie Mclain (Hundred Days), Annie Tippe (Director, Ghost Quartet), and Dominique Toney ('Crazy Ex-Girlfriend'); and lyrics by Allen, Backhaus, Brun, Butler, Esher, Lampert, McLain, and Tippe. Andrew Neisler will direct.

On March 14, 15 and 18, 2018, the Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra (KCO) and Jody Oberfelder Projects (JOP) present Kurt Weill's Zaubernacht (Magic Night), a dance and chamber music work that will appeal to children and adults alike. For this production, choreographer Jody Oberfelder will create compelling characters based on the dynamic score, and the Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra will perform composer Kurt Weill's long-lost orchestrations-the first time the original orchestrations will be heard in New York City since Zaubernacht's American premiere in 1925. A KCO chamber music ensemble will be joined by singer Hai-Ting Chinn, and the intrepid and whimsical veteran JOP members Emily Giovine, Pierre Guilbault, Mary Madsen, Lindsey Mandolini, Ned Malouf (on stilts!), Maya Orchin, Hannah Wendel, Mei Yamanaka, and introducing 11-year-old Lyla Forest Butler! Lighting is by Savannah Bell, video design by Eric Siegel and costumes by Summer Lee Jack.

The classic tale of the world's most infamous outlaw goes rogue in The Heart of Robin Hood, a heart-pounding, eye-popping new adventure directed by Gisli rn Gardarsson and Selma Bj rnsd ttir from Iceland's innovative theater company Vesturport and the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (The Wallis). Robin Hood and his unmerry gang of cutthroats steal from the rich, but it never occurs to them to give back.

Sherry lovers - mark your calendar. Sherryfest, one of the world's largest and most prominent sherry events, is returning to New York City this fall for its fifth year running. The 2017 program will take place over the weekend of October 27-29th, broadening its reach to a wider consumer and collector audience in addition to programming for wine professionals. March 4, 2016 (BOSTON, MA)—Boston Ballet's 52nd season continues with Kaleidoscope, a vibrant fusion of works by the most influential choreographic voices of the 20th century. The first of four works presented in this dynamic program is George Balanchine's Kammermusik No. 2, a “fascinating” and “unremitting” ballet, followed by the dazzling and technically demanding The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude by William Forsythe that returns to Boston Ballet after a critically acclaimed Company premiere last season (Brian Seibert, The New York Times). Adding to the evening's exceptional program is the graceful Pas de Quatre by unsung choreographer Leonid Yakobson, a classically romantic work noted for its “distinctive movement sensibility” (Roslyn Sulcas,The New York Times). Concluding the program is Léonide Massine's colorful Gaîté Parisienne, an effervescent ballet that evokes Moulin Rouge and Paris in the early 1900s, and ends with an unforgettable can-can.  Kaleidoscope will run March 17–26, 2016 at the Boston Opera House.
