The first Broadway revival of the 1982 Tony Award?-winning musical based on the classic film 8 1/2. Antonio Banderas, Laura Benanti, Jane Krakowski, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Chita Rivera lead the cast.



Nine revolves around one central character, Guido Contini (played by Banderas in his Broadway debut), a film director in the Fellini mold. He is contracted to write and direct a film, but is unable to come up with a suitable plot. After recent box office failures, he finds himself drifting towards a nervous breakdown. Guido finds himself examining his past flawed relationships with the many women who have come through his life and the struggle to act his mature age of 40--as opposed to nine.

In Washington, D.C., THE LION KING plays Tuesdays through Sunday evenings at 7:30pm with 1:30pm matinees on Saturdays and Sundays. The Glimmerglass Festival presents the premiere of a new version of An American Tragedy, which was originally commissioned by and premiered at the Metropolitan Opera in 2005, by composer Tobias Picker and librettist Gene Scheer on Sunday, July 20 at 1:30 p.m., with subsequent performances through Sunday, August 24. One hour prior to the opening performance and other matinee performances, Mr. Picker will preview his work in a free discussion at the Preview Pavilion next to the performance venue. The production is directed by Peter Kazaras and conducted by George Manahan, and the cast features Glimmerglass's 2014 Young Artists. Dave Chappelle Adds 10th Show at Radio City Music Hall

Madison Square Garden Entertainment (MSGE) announced today that -- with 50,000 tickets sold -- Dave Chappelle has sold out an unprecedented Nine consecutive comedy performances at Radio City Music Hall, and is adding a 10th show. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of "Dave Chappelle's Block Party," for four select shows, Chappelle will combine his stand-up comedy with appearance by different musical guests each night, including: Nas, The Roots, Erykah Badu, Busta Rhymes, Janelle Monae, and DJ Premier. Each musical guest will perform with a full orchestra to make those shows a fully-blended comedy and concert experience. Five consecutive comedy shows and four music and comedy shows make up the Radio City Music Hall run for Dave Chappelle starting June 18th through June 27th. The reading will star Karen Mason -- Drama Desk-nominated Broadway star of Wonderland, Mamma Mia and Sunset Boulevard, as well as a prolific concert and recording artist -- and be directed by Dan Knechtges (Lysistrata Jones, Tony Award nominee for Xanadu choreography).
