On December 4, 1956, an auspicious twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley together. The place was Sun Records' storefront studio in Memphis. The man who made it happen was Sam Phillips, the 'Father of Rock 'n' Roll,' who discovered them all. It took two years, a Pulitzer Prize and an Olivier Award-winning London production before happening, but Bruce Norris' searing satire, Clybourne Park, has finally made the six-block transfer from Off-Broadway's Playwright's Horizon to Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre.  The original ensemble of director Pam MacKinnon's excellent 2010 production has been reunited for the playwright's scathing telling of the racial integration of a Chicago neighborhood, as seen through the history of one very significant home. BWW Breaking News: After 5 Years, Toronto Based Dancap Productions Says Farewell

It was announced today in a story by The Star's Richard Ouzounian that Aubrey Dan was no longer involved as producer in the upcoming Prince of Broadway, and that there were not plans for future Toronto shows beyond the 2012 Season. Dancap Productions has been producing commercial theatre in Toronto since 2007, when it exploded onto the scene with a strong freshman season. Shortly thereafter the company produced the Canadian production of Jersey Boys, which ran for two years and played to over two million people. Since Jersey Boys closed Dan has faced an uphill battle, and has made the decision that 2012 will be the company's final season. (more...)

John Travolta's wife and actress, Kelly Preston, attended Jersey Boys at Paris Las Vegas yesterday, April 26. Preston attended the show for the first time last night after her husband and daughter, Ella, had seen it in New York and raved about it. Ella attended the show again with her mom along with a group of close friends. The group went backstage after the performance to meet the cast and Preston remarked that there was more exceptional music in this production than in almost any show she has ever seen. (more...)

Third Street Theatre has added a host and 3 new cast members to its gala performance of The Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown on May 4th, 5th and 6th. Just before the airing of the final episodes of the hit show, The Closer, Tony nominee Corey Reynolds (Hairspray) will host on Saturday May 5th. Added to the cast are Janelle Lynn Randall (Boardwalk Empire, All Shook Up), Daniel Tatar (The Company Men, Hairspray) and Allen Hidalgo (Jersey Boys). These actors join hosts Jane Lynch, William H. West Side Story Arrives at Fox Cities P.A.C. Tonight

The tour of the smash-hit Broadway revival of West Side Story is coming to the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. West Side Story will open at the Center on April 24. Tony Award®-winning librettist Arthur Laurents' Broadway direction will be recreated for the tour by David Saint, the associate director on Broadway.
