Kansas City Repertory Theatre Artistic Director Eric Rosen today announced changes to its artistic staff for its 50th Anniversary Season. Associate Artistic Director Kyle Hatley, who is planning to return to Chicago over the coming year, will become Resident Director. As previously announced, his duties will include performing in An Iliad and developing and directing the world premiere of Nathan Jackson's Sticky Traps; in addition, he will support the annual production of A Christmas Carol, now directed by Jerry Genochio. For Tonight, a new original musical, by creators Shenelle Williams, Spencer Williams and Whitney Rhodes is headed to New York City to participate in The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) as a developmental reading. For Tonight's story is inspired by the life of the writer's great-great-great-grandfather in the 1830's in Northern Wales/Liverpool. With its indie-rock inspired score and a completely original book, this story focuses on the universal themes of love, family and acceptance. Kentwood Players, the community theater group based at the Westchester Playhouse, was founded in December 1949 by Jan and Arky Marcom. At the end of each season, all Kentwood Players members in good standing who have seen all six shows vote by secret ballot and then the group presents their annual Marcom Masque Awards to the winners in each category at an entertainment-filled awards ceremony, held June 28, 2014 for the 2013-2014 season.. The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the second production of the 2014 Summer Season, Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical Into the Woods, which made its World Premiere at The Old Globe in 1986. The production is an inventive reimagining by Fiasco Theater, directed by Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld, in a production that originated at McCarter Theatre Center. On July 1, 2014, single tickets go on sale for Signature Theatre's 25th Anniversary Season. The 2014/15 season will bring three new musicals to life in world premieres including the world premiere of the Sheryl Crow and Barry Levinson penned musical adaptation of the 1982 movie Diner; Kid Victory by John Kander (Chicago, Cabaret) and Greg Pierce; and Soon by Nick Blaemire. The season begins with Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Sunday in the Park with George; and continues with the musical version of Sinclair Lewis's best-selling novel Elmer Gantry; the DC area premiere of Sex with Strangers by Laura Eason; a world premiere concert event Simply Sondheim celebrating the work of Stephen Sondheim; and Kander & Ebb's classic musical Cabaret. Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma Presents LES MISERABLES, Now thru 6/28

This June, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma will produce one of the greatest musicals of all time, LES MISERABLES. This original production will feature the performances of Chuck Wagner, Danny Rothman, Victoria Huston-Elem, Tommy Cunningham, Julie Johnson, and Dallas Lish, leading a company of over 100 voices. The bold design features a new, four story set designed by Michael Raiford and over 400 costumes designed by Oklahoman Jeffrey Meek.
