The Frist Center for the Visual Arts has announced its upcoming events through June 15, 2010.
Eric Schaeffer, Artistic Director of the Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre, today announced the company's 2010-2011 season of four musicals and three plays, with the innovative company producing three world premieres and one regional premiere.
The fall temperatures may be getting colder, but the DC area theatre scene is heating up with many musicals, including a new "intimate" production of a 1927 American classic, a Tony-Award Winning family saga, and so many choices - well - take a look for yourself at what this diverse theatre community has to offer in November. This is a great time to celebrate the upcoming holidays with your family, so bring the kids, grandparents, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins to see that Orphan girl and her dog, a Disney heroine, and enjoy an early Christmas, and many more shows to bring in the cheer and joy of the holiday season. Internationally renowned actress Rosemary Harris stars in this tour-de-force by award-winning French author and playwright Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt. Helmed by esteemed director Frank Dunlop, this mesmerizing adaptation of Schmitt's Oscar et la dame rose is sure to touch audiences both young and old.
In Oscar and the Pink Lady, Tony? and Emmy? award-winner Harris tackles an array of memorable characters, among them Oscar, a ten-year-old patient in the cancer ward of a hospital. She also brings to life his friends, his family, and of course Granny Pink, a candy striper of sorts whose wit, compassion, and indomitable spirit transform the lives of those around her. Granny Pink's observations are by turns funny, touching, and profound, and Harris's luminous performance is ultimately a celebration of life.

The New York Philharmonic presents Lerner and Loewe's My Fair Lady in four semi-staged performances, March 7-10, 2007. The musical - a New York Philharmonic premiere - will star Kelli O'Hara, Kelsey Grammer, Charles Kimbrough, Brian Dennehy, Marni Nixon and Tim Jerome.
