Broadway veteran Kevin Anderson leads the cast in the Los Angeles run of world premiere production of Neil LaBute's The Break of Noon. The Break of Noon, which is a co-production with MCC in New York, will feature Catherine Dent as well as Tracee Chimo and John Earl Jelks, who performed their roles in the New York portion of the run. Helmed by director Jo Bonney, The Break of Noon begins in previews on January 25, 2011 and officially opens February 2, 2011. (more...)

The Grove Theatre is proud to announce the opening of its 2011 Season. In celebration of Black History Month, The Grove Theatre and Shining Glory Entertainment will co-produce 'For Colored Girls who have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf', a choreopoem, or series of poems choreographed to music. 'For Colored Girls who have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf' expresses the many struggles and obstacles that African-American women have faced throughout their lives. While the play focuses on women of color, the poems are about women, love, family, abuse, relationships, identity, sexuality, choice and friendship, and are embodied by each woman's story, providing a sense of the interrelationships among the performers and of their gestures and dance movements. William Atherton, Matt Cavenaugh, Lisa O'Hare, Carol Lawrence, Millicent Martin and Jason Graae are the acclaimed film, Broadway and West End stars who will lead the cast of Reprise Theatre Company's second production of the 2010-2011 season, 'Gigi', playing February 15 to February 27, 2011 (press opening February 16, 2011) at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. A Noise Within Presents GREAT EXPECTATIONS, 10/30-12/19

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, revisits CHARLES DICKENS' thrilling GREAT EXPECTATIONS with the West Coast premiere of a powerful stage adaptation by Neil Bartlett opening Saturday, October 30 and closing Sunday, December 19, 2010 (previews begin Saturday, October 23). ANW Co-Founders and Co-Artistic Directors Julia Rodriguez-Elliott and Geoff Elliott co-direct this production - which features original music by noted composer Doug Newell - based on Dickens' masterful novel. Bartlett was also the adaptor of A Noise Within's 2008-09 season favorite Oliver Twist. This marks the second time Rodriguez-Elliott and Elliott have co-directed Great Expectations at A Noise Within, the first produced during the 1995-96 season, winning numerous awards. (more...)
