Bonded initially by their wide eyes and empty pockets, they develop a 10-year brotherhood that spans the lows of their initial meeting to the highs of their shared debut on Harlem's brightest stage.

It was announced last Saturday evening, from the stage of the Ryman Auditorium, that Ricky Skaggs will be the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's 2013 Artist-in-Residence. Skaggs will present two intimate evening performances on November 18 and 19, at 7:00 p.m. The concerts will be the museum's first public programs in the new CMA Theater.

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced the roster for Lincoln Center's fourth multidisciplinary White Light Festival, October 24 through November 23, 2013. The Festival's focus is music's capacity to illuminate the many dimensions of our interior lives, with a particular emphasis this year on the power of the voice. Spanning numerous musical traditions, genres, and disciplines, the Festival will offer 23 performances, films, and events featuring seven premieres and debuts by artists and companies from more than a dozen countries, including France, India, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, the U.K., Mali, Estonia, Italy, Austria, Canada and the U.S. New to this edition of the Festival is White Light on Film, film screenings followed by discussions with their directors. The OBIE Award-winning Pig Iron Theatre Company will collaborate on a new concert-spectacle with Dr. Dog - the Philadelphia-based indie-rock band whose last album (Be the Void) debuted on Billboard's top 50 - thanks to new funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The as-yet-untitled collaboration, scheduled for spring/summer 2014, will filter Dr. Dog's songs (including some from a new album due out in October) through Pig Iron's unique visual style and concept-driven staging.

Marin Theatre Company, in a co-production with Virginia Stage Company, stages the regional premiere of Matthew Lopez's Civil War drama The Whipping Man in Mill Valley from March 28 to April 21, 2013. MTC's artistic director Jasson Minadakis directs the production. Featuring popular Bay Area actors L. Peter Callender, Nicholas Pelczar and Tobie Windham, as well as the design team from MTC's 2011 San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award nominated production of Tennessee Williams's The Glass Menagerie, this co-production rehearsed and ran at VSC in Norfolk, Virginia, from February 26 to March 17, 2013, before tonight's move to MTC. Opening night at MTC is tonight, April 2.
