The Marvelous Wonderettes' Christina DeCicco and BAWDY's, Jesse Luttrell have been added as special guests in the upcoming concert, Larry Hamilton: Channel Surfing! Hamilton, who was last seen at Joe's Pub with Our Lady J's Gospel of Dolly, will return to the Laurie Beechman for a second go-round, with tunes from the television and movie screens. Channel Surfing will play one performance only on March 21 at 9:30PM. The concert will also feature 'The Channel Surfing Singers': Geoff Kidwell (Rated:RSO), Mark Mozingo (The Hidden Sky), Anich D'Jae, Tatiana Henderson, Michael Jones, Ryan Scott Lathan, Jennifer Mintzer, JB Reed, Robin Rothman, Rachel Smith, Justin Stratton, and Robert Teasdale. Producers of the five-time Tony Award nominated hit musical, ROCK OF AGES announced today that Emily Padgett will take over the role of 'Sherrie,' beginning Monday, March 15, 2010 and Derek St. Pierre ('Franz') and Katie Webber ('Waitress #1') will join the cast on Monday, March 22. After having understudied the role since Monday, November 16, 2009 and performing nightly as 'Waitress #1' at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street), Ms. Padgett will star opposite Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis. She takes over the role from Kerry Butler, who will play her final performance Saturday, March 13 at 8pm. Tom Lenk will play his final performance as 'Franz' on Sunday, March 21 at 7:30pm. (more...)

The American Theatre Wing announced today that the 2010 Jonathan Larson® Grants will be presented on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the American Airlines Theatre (227 W 42nd Street, 5th Floor) in New York City. This year, Peter Lerman, Daniel Mate, and songwriting team Michael Kooman (music) and Christopher Dimond (book & lyrics) were selected to receive the prestigious grants, totaling $10,000. The evening will include special performances of the recipients' work by Brian d'Arcy James, Kerry Butler and Brad Bass, John Eric Parker, and Ephraim Sykes from Memphis will perform a rarely heard Jonathan Larson song. National Corporate Theatre Fund (NCTF) will hold its Annual Chairman's Awards Gala and benefit on Monday, April 19 at the St. Regis New York hotel. This year, NCTF Chairman James S. Turley, Chairman & CEO of Ernst & Young, will honor Nathan Lane (returning to Broadway this season in The Addams Family), set designer Eugene Lee (Wicked) and Wells Fargo & Company. Accepting the award on behalf of Wells Fargo will be Joe Kirk, Regional President for New York and Connecticut. All net proceeds of the event will be distributed as the NCTF/WELLS FARGO FUND FOR NEW AMERICAN THEATRE. (more...)
