'Dancing with the Stars' duo Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy will extend their run for an additional two weeks in Broadway's FOREVER TANGO. Originally scheduled to appear for three weeks only, the couple will now perform in the internationally acclaimed entertainment phenomenon through Sunday, August 11, 2013. Special guest vocalist and five-time Grammy Award-winner, Gilberto Santa Rosa, will appear through July 28, 2013 as previously announced. Forever Tango began performances on Tuesday, July 9, 2014 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 W 48thStreet).

When Jerry Herman was pegged by producer Gerard Oestreicher to write the score for a Broadway musical set in the fledgling State of Israel, he was a 28-year-old composer/lyricist mostly known for writing clever lyrics and snazzy tunes for Greenwich Village topical reviews like Nightcap and Parade.
