Mainstage subscription packages are now available for purchase for the 2014 season at the historic Woodlawn Theatre in conjunction with the announcement of its 2014 season. Coming up on the main stage are three Texas premieres, two shows currently playing on and off Broadway, three popular movie adaptations and a fairytale.

Bayou City Concert Musicals (BCCM) is kicking off their series of neglected 50s musicals with THE PAJAMA GAME, featuring Music and Lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross and a Book by George Abbott and Richard Bissell. The beloved romantic comedy is based on Richard Bissell's novel 7½ Cents. In the show, the factory workers at Sleep-Tite Pajamas are fighting for a 7½ cent per hour raise. In the midst of this, Babe Williams, the grievance committee head, and Sid, the handsome new factory superintendent, fall in love. THE PAJAMA GAME took New York City by storm when it premiered in 1954 and ran for 1,063 performances in its original run. It spawned a successful film adaption in 1957, had a failed Broadway revival in 1973, and found success again with a 2006 Broadway revival. Additionally, the BCCM production is the first professional production of the beloved musical in Houston in about 40 years.

As thousands of fans gather for Elvis Week and prepare for the annual Candlelight Vigil at Graceland this evening, Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. (EPE) is announcing plans and debuting artwork today for a yearlong celebration to commemorate Elvis' first professional recording, considered by many music historians to be the birth of the rock 'n' roll music movement. Joining EPE's CEO Jack Soden for the announcement will be Kevin Kane, President of the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau and Jayne Ellen Brooks from Sun Studio.

Sony Classical will release Leon Fleisher: The Complete Album Collection a 23-CD deluxe box set spanning the legendary pianist's fifty-five years recordingfor the Columbia/Epic and Sony Classical labels from 1954-2009, yielding some of classicalmusic's definitive recordings. The release comes exactly one week before Fleisher's 85th birthday today, July 23, 2013, and is supported by a full schedule of appearances as pianist, conductor, and mentor, in the coming year.

Norma Hass, a woman who creatively expresses herself through literary poetic verses and melodic compositions, has gathered her best works and compiled them in her newly published book, titled Venus Winked: Poems, Ballads, Parodies, Limericks, and Clerihews. The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the Globe's revival of N. Richard Nash's classic romantic comedyThe Rainmaker. Directed by Maria Mileaf, The Rainmaker will run July 13 - August 11, 2013 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run July 13 - July 17. Today in 2007, the first Broadway revival of 110 in the Shade opened at Studio 54, where it ran for 94 performances. 110 in the Shade is a musical with a book by N. Richard Nash, lyrics by Tom Jones, and music by Harvey Schmidt. Based on Nash's 1954 play The Rainmaker, it focuses on Lizzie Curry, a spinster living on a ranch in the American southwest, and her relationships with local sheriff File, a cautious divorce who fears being hurt again, and charismatic con man Bill Starbuck, posing as a rainmaker who promises the locals he can bring relief to the drought-stricken area. The revival cast featured Audra McDonald as Lizzi and John Cullum as H.C. Curry.

110 in the Shade is a 1963 musical based on the award-winning 1954 play The Rainmaker with a book by N. Richard Nash, lyrics by Tom Jones, and music by Harvey Schmidt. It followed the team's success creating The Fantasticks- the world's longest running musical. A one-time professional boxer who later went on to teach at Princeton and Yale, playwright Nash has written for theatre, television and film as well as works of fiction and poetry, however, The Rainmaker is his most widely known work which also was made into a film starring Katharine Hepburn and Burt Lancaster.

One Life To Live daytime drama actors, and real life husband and wife team, Jim (Max) and Kassie (Blair) DePaiva will star in TheatreZone's season finale, the Broadway musical '110 In The Shade.' The production is based on N. Richard Nash's 1954 play 'The Rainmaker," an all-American love story about a con man who brings sweet relief to the parched life of a small-town virgin.
