The Wedding Singer has been announced for the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, with previews to begin on March 30, 2006 and opening night to be April 27, 2006.

The Golden Globe nominations were released this morning, with The Producers film garnering four.

The production will star Josh Strickland as Tarzan, Jenn Gambatese as Jane, Merle Dandridge as Kala, Shuler Hensley as Kerchak, Chester Gregory II as Terk, Timothy Jerome as Professor Porter and Donnie Keshawarz as Clayton. Daniel Manche and Alex Rutherford will alternate in the role of Young Tarzan.

Hank Azaria will return to the show December 2, and David Hyde Pierce has extended his stay. Both actors will star in SPAMALOT until April of 2006.

Robin de Levita, Dragone and The Firm have announced the creative team for CARMEN: The Musical, based on the classic 1845 novel by Prosper Mérimée, directed by Franco Dragone. With music by John Ewbank, and a book by Sarah Miles, a developmental staging will be work-shopped later this year, with a Broadway production targeted for the 2006/07 season.

Performances of THE PAJAMA GAME will begin Friday, January 27th on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre with the official opening set for Thursday, March 2nd. The limited engagement is scheduled to run 20 weeks through June 18th, 2006.

The Producers has just recouped its £5,500,000 capitalisation and the musical has now been seen by well over 550,000 people in London since it started performances on 25 October 2004.

Complete casting announced for the show which is to begin performances in February 2006.

Max and Leo, the two Producers tours, will have grossed $222 million dollars as the second tour closes in Japan

The musical of the Lord of the Rings, unable to book a theatre in the West End, will open in Toronto next year.

The 2006 revival of A Chorus Line will play at San Franciso's Curran Theatre in its original Bennett staging.
