Will Swenson to Take LES MISERABLES Hiatus Beginning 7/22 for Alliance's BULL DURHAM

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, John Behlmann, Melissa Errico and Will Swenson will star in BULL DURHAM, the new musical based on the beloved 1988 film, which Sports Illustrated proclaimed the '#1 Greatest Sports Movie of All-time.' BULL DURHAM will premiere at the Alliance Theatre on September 3, and will run until October 5. Swenson, who will play '"Crash" Davis', will appear in the new musical while on hiatus from the Broadway revival of Les Miserables, where he currently stars as Javert. Swenson will be gone July 22- October 5. A replacement has not yet been announced.

STARS IN THE ALLEY, presented by United Airlines, was presented earlier this week in Shubert Alley, between Broadway and 8th Avenue and 44th and 45th Streets. To add to the festivities leading up to the Tony Awards, the free outdoor concert in the heart of the Theatre District celebrated Broadway with star appearances and exciting performances from over 20 new shows and long-running favorites, accompanied by a live 12-piece orchestra. BroadwayWorld was there for the special concert event and below you can check out 'On My Own' as performed by Nikki M. James!

Ramin Karimloo is currently starring in his Broadway debut as 'Jean Valjean' in the revival of Les Miserables, playing at the Imperial Theatre. Karimloo is also set to release his latest EP, titled 'The Road to Find Out: East,' which will be available starting April 7, 2014 via Big Hand Recordings. The EP features what Karimloo calls 'Broadgrass', which is an amalgamation between Broadway and Bluegrass music. The actor just released the video for the single 'Losing' from the album, and you can check it out below!

Ramin Karimloo Reveals Inspiration Behind His LES MISERABLES Body

Anyone who has yet made it to the Imperial Theatre to see the new revival of Les Miserables is well aware of Ramin Karimloo's killer body. In a recent interview with the NY Post, Karimloo revealed the work that went behind achieving his Valjean physique. He told NYP: 'Hugo says Jean Valjean was a man of medium height, broad-shouldered, robust and in the prime of his life,' Karimloo says. ' Whatever he did to keep himself fit and strong - and I'm sure he wasn't doing yoga in prison! - he had the wherewithal. So I thought, 'I'll start getting in shape.'
