Leapin’ lizards! The popular comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world’s best-loved musicals. Annie is a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan, the funniest villain this side of a Disney cartoon. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil schemes, befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and finds a new family and home in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

The award-winning York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) hosted its 19th Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre on Monday, November 22, 2010, honoring Tony Award-winning librettist Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray, Elf). The evening was directed by Tony-winning director/lyricist/librettist Richard Maltby and the award was presented by Alice Hammerstein Mathias, daughter of Oscar Hammerstein II.

LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's programming initiative devoted to producing the work of new artists and developing new audiences, has announced that Steven Boyer, Jarlath Conroy, John Patrick Dougherty, Stephen Ellis, Richard Poe, Kristen Schaal, Jeremy Strong, and Christopher Evan Welch will be featured in its world premiere production of THE COWARD, a new play by Nick Jones, directed by Sam Gold, the first of LCT3's three productions during the 2010-2011 season.

The award-winning York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) is pleased to announce the star-studded roster of performers for its 19th Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre. The award will be presented to Tony Award-winning librettist Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray, Elf) on Monday, November 22, 2010. On October 18th, Emmy nominee Connie Britton whose accolades include stand-out roles on shows such as Friday Night Lights, 24, The West Wing among others and Carla Gugino who is seen on Entourage, Watchmen, Night at the Museum and more will be hosting the internationally-acclaimed African Children's Choir as they perform at their annual fundraising gala. Joining them performing are some of Broadway's best from shows including Wicked, Lion King, Promises, Promises, In the Heights and Memphis with more to be announced. The Music Director for the event is Mary Mitchell Campbell. As Cy Coleman's protégé and currently the Music Director for Addams Family on Broadway right now, she will be adding her talent to this night. The night will not only showcase performances, but also an auction to help raise funds for The African Children's Choir.
