The West Indian American Day Carnival Association (WIADCA), producers of the New York Caribbean Carnival on Labor Day and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce have partnered to produce the first Caribbean Restaurant Week in New York from June 22nd - 28th.

TwentyWonder 2014 - A Carnival of the Mind is set for Saturday, June 28th from 6pm to midnight at The Doll Factory, 1910 W. Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA (Ages 21+).

Hop on board the electric Red Car and escape down to the picturesque seaside of the turn of the last century for Pacific Symphony's 2014 Gala 'By the Sea,' a lavish evening of carnival fun, coastal delicacies, auction items and thrilling entertainment. To celebrate the orchestra's 35 years in Orange County, the Gala committee has designed a soirée reminiscent of the first boardwalks, Ferris wheels, bath houses and dance floors that lined California's beautiful coast. Taking place for the first time at the ocean-side Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa tonight, May 31, at 5:30 p.m., guests enjoy the shimmering views and fresh salt air as they stroll along 'The Walk of a Thousand Lights' and test their skills in a host of carnival games and fun houses along the boardwalk. A romantic ride on the Ferris wheel awaits, as do a bevy of bathing beauties, sideshow entertainers and tempting carnival-inspired treats.

Creative development and entertainment production firm, showHive, Inc. has been tapped by Carnival Cruise Lines to develop two new main stage production shows. Conceived and directed by showHive founder, Emmett Murphy, the new shows are part of Carnival's award winning and innovative “Playlist Productions” revues, which take seagoing entertainment to another level by combining captivating live performances with high-tech LED stage and screen effects.

New York Theatre Ballet announces Carnival of Animals, choreographed by Beth Storey Taylor, and Sleeping Beauty's Wedding, choreographed by James Sutton, at Florence Gould Hall, 55 East 59th Street, New York City. Performances are today, May 10 at 1pm and Sunday, May 11 at 11am, 1pm, and 3:30pm.

Carnival Cruise Lines, the leader in family cruising, today unveiled Camp Ocean an exciting, new marine-themed children's program coming to its fleet of 24 "Fun Ships." Set to debut on Carnival Freedom on May 24, the expansive new program will immerse children ages 2-11 in the wonders of the sea through fun, engaging and educational experiences. More than 200 new ocean-inspired activities will range from educational games such as Sea Creature Discovery, Marine Life Trivia, Under the Sea Mad Libs and Ocean Artifacts Memory Tray to creative arts opportunities such as Design Your Own Aquarium, Make Your Own Sailboat, Sea Salt Art, and Create a Penguin from Oreos.

MIAMI, Dec. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ Carnival Cruise Lines is launching new dinner concepts for the ships' main dining rooms that will begin the week of December 8 aboard the Carnival Glory. The two new concepts, American TABLE and American FEAST, reflect an increased investment by Carnival in its main dining room experience and incorporate the results of extensive testing and research conducted among Carnival's past guests.

As part of their mission, Mildred's Umbrella puts on 'bold, innovative and fresh theatrical works,' and CARNIVAL ROUND THE CENTRAL FIGURE perfectly upholds this banner. The work is a cacophony of noise and events told in a seemingly stream-of-consciousness chronology as it leaps through time and place with the bat of an eye. Some parts occur 10 years prior to the central plot, while others occur simultaneously. In effect, Diana Amsterdam's writing and Jennifer Decker's directing creates a living, breathing fever dream or bizarre, almost surreal events that deal with how we cope with mortality and death.
