Fox Associates announces its stellar 2009-2010 U.S. Bank Broadway Series, featuring Broadway's latest sensation IN THE HEIGHTS, winner of the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical. The new Mel Brooks Musical YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, a zany recreation of the classic film, will make its St. Louis debut. Also included in the series are: the recent Broadway smash hit production of IRVING BERLIN'S WHITE CHRISTMAS; the 2007 Broadway revival of GREASE starring 'American Idol' winner Taylor Hicks as Teen Angel and the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY starring Estelle Parsons.

Two-time Tony Award winners NATHAN LANE (The Producers, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum) and BEBE NEUWIRTH (Chicago, Sweet Charity) will star as Gomez and Morticia in THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a new musical based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams. Produced by Stuart Oken, Roy Furman, Michael Leavitt and Five Cent Productions, by special arrangement with Elephant Eye Theatrical, THE ADDAMS FAMILY will open on Broadway Thursday, April 8, 2010 at a Nederlander theatre to be announced. Previews will begin Thursday, March 4, 2010 following a pre-Broadway engagement at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre in Chicago that begins November 13.

Diversionary Theatre's 2009-2010 season of two gender-bending musicals and four provocative plays includes two West Coast Premieres, dynamic local actors and directors, and a reading of a new queer opera. The six-show mainstage season includes: the new musical Twist by Gila Sand and Paul Leschen, based on Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, directed by James Vasquez; Bent, the seminal play by Martin Sherman, in a co-production with ion theatre company; Paul Rudnick's big gay comedy The New Century, directed by Igor Goldin; same-sex marriage gets a comic nod with The Marriage Bed by Nona Shepphard, directed by Rosina Reynolds; laugh out loud with teenage angst in Speech and Debate by Steven Karam, directed by Jason Southerland; and filled with melancholy and lust, the musical play Moscow, by Nick Salamone and Maury R. McIntyre, rounds out the season.

The producers of the smash hit Broadway
production of WEST SIDE STORY announced today that the show has shattered
the Palace Theatre box office record for highest weekly gross for two
consecutive weeks. The record was held previously by LEGALLY BLONDE for the
week ending 12/30/07 (Christmas week) with $1,219,488. For the week ending
4/5/09, WEST SIDE STORY broke that record with $1,234,652 and then last
week, for the week ending 4/12/09, shattered its own record with an
impressive weekly gross of $1,308,787.
