Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) announces a free post-performance discussion moderated by Pulitzer Prize-winning theatre critic and Negroland: A Memoir author Margo Jefferson in connection with TFANA's world premiere production of Adrienne Kennedy's He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box. The talk, which begins at 8.30 PM is open to all and features director Charlotte Braithwaite and playwrights Lydia Diamond and Jackie Sibblies Drury, follows the January 20 performance of Kennedy's first new play in a decade, which begins at 7:30 that evening, at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place, Brooklyn, NY 11217). Set in Georgia and New York City in 1941, He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box is a heartbreaking, nail-biting memory tale of segregation, theatrical yearning, and doomed love.

Playwrights Horizons presents THE TREASURER, the world premiere of a new play by Max Posner (Judy) and directed by three-time Lortel Award winner David Cromer (The Band's Visit, Our Town, Adding Machine). Commissioned by Playwrights Horizons, the play will be the second production of the theater company's 2017/2018 Season.

Rehearsals are set to begin on Tuesday, July 25 for the Playwrights Horizons New York premiere production of For Peter Pan on her 70th Birthday, a new play by two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist and Tony Award nominee Sarah Ruhl (Stage Kiss, Dead Man's Cell Phone at Playwrights; In the Next Room, or the vibrator play; The Clean House).

Almeida Artistic Director Rupert Goold said: 'We are thrilled to present three major new productions at the Almeida, including two world premieres and one rare revival. Spanning the Atlantic and beyond, this season is a timely and limitless interrogation into contemporary cultural anxieties and the power we have over our own lives.'

Director Thomas Ostermeier's critically lauded Schaubuhne production of AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE by Henrik Ibsen will be presented on Broadway in the 2017-2018 season at a theater to be announced. The acclaimed version by Florian Borchmeyer & Thomas Ostermeier will have a new English adaptation by MacArthur 'Genius' Fellow Branden Jacobs-Jenkins.

Maureen Beattie, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Gerrome Miller, Beatrice Scirocchi and Andrew Sheridan have been cast in Simon Stephens' Nuclear War directed by Imogen Knight. It runs in the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Upstairs 19 April 2017 - 6 May 2017 with Press Night on Friday 21 April.

Second Stage Theatre presents the New York premiere production of Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts' play, MAN FROM NEBRASKA, directed by David Cromer.

Romola Garai will star as Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough alongside Emma Cunniffe as the eponymous monarch in the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Queen Anne.

In the spirit of the political season, on Monday, November 21st, Scandinavian American Theater Company is presenting an Icelandic play about women's rights and gender politics: KARMA FOR BIRDS by Kristin Eiriksdottir (Iceland) and Kari Ósk Gretudottir (Iceland), with translator Salka Gudmundsdottir (Iceland) and director Christoffer Berdal Denmark).

A startling, beautiful, humorous and polemic first play by two young women about the consequences of violence, injustice and beauty. Perhaps, Elsa is a seventeen-year-old girl for sale, perhaps she is a middle-aged prostitute, or a homeless old woman, maybe she is a 130-year-old Buddhist nun. Perhaps Karma for Birds is happening right here and now . . . the invisible but palpable repression of women. Performed at the Iceland National Theatre in 2013,Karma for Birds was nominated for the Griman, Iceland's theater award for best play of the year.?
