Ari Graynor & Jonah Hill Team Up for 'The Sitter' Flick

Deadline.com has revealed that Ari Graynor will team up with Jonah Hill in the David Gordon Green-directed The Sitter for Fox. Michael De Luca prodeces the film, which, according to The Hollywood Reporter 'follows a college student, suspended for the semester and living at home with his single mom, who has a night to remember when he gets talked into baby-sitting the eccentric kids next door: two boys and a wild 8-year-old girl.'

Gyllenhall, Pryce, Everett, and Dancy to Star in 'Hysteria'

According to a report by Variety, Maggie Gyllenhall, Jonathan Pryce, Rupert Everett, and Hugh Dancy will al be starring in the upcoming indie flick 'Hysteria'. The film, which was written by Stephen Dyer and Jonah Lisa Dyer, will focus on the invention of the vibrator in Victorian Era England.

In addition, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Zac Efron, Jonah Hill, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Steve Carell, Miranda Cosgrove, Shaun White, Vanessa Hudgens, Sean 'Diddy,' Combs and Russell Brand are the first presenters to be announced. Jonah Bokaer's fascination with the fusion of architecture, technology and choreography is front and center this year, in the United States and Internationally. Consider his 2010 commissioned world premieres: a choreography and architecture commission from Dance Works Rotterdam, Holland; the opening of Pavilion Dance's new building in Bournemouth, England; and Georgia Institute of Technology, where he is also the school's first Artist in Residence. Bokaer, who along with John Jasperse, created CPR - Center for Performance Research, was also instrumental in the architectural design of the performing space and facilities. Greenbelt, which houses CPR, recently became the first New York State L.E.E.D!-NC Gold certified mixed-use structure.*

John Doyle to Helm Foote's 'MAIN STREET' for the Big Screen

Variety reports that Director John Doyle has signed on to direct Horton Foote's ensemble drama 'Main Street' for Reliant Pictures. Filming is set to begin in Durham, N.C. on March 16th. Spencer Silna of 1984 Films is producing with Jonah Hirsch of Fixed Point Films. Silna's partners, Doug Saylor and Adi Shankar, will executive produce the motion picture reports the trade paper. Doyle won a Tony Award in 2006 for 'Sweeney Todd' and was nominated for a Drama Desk and a Tony for staging 'Company.' He most recently directed 'Road Show' for Gotham's the Public Theater. Foote, 93, created 'Main Street' after visiting Durham two years ago. Foote's tale explains Variety, centers on a diverse group of residents of a small, economically moribund American city facing the consequences of change. Foote won Oscars for penning 'Tender Mercies' and adapting 'To Kill a Mockingbird', he was recently represented on Broadway by his play 'Dividing The Estate'.

Center Theatre Group and Deaf West Theatre's production of 'Pippin' opens the Mark Taper Forum's 2009 season on Sunday, January 25, at 6:30 p.m. Both deaf and hearing actors sign and sing the magical musical comedy with book by Roger O. Hirson and music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Directed and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun, 'Pippin' continues performances through March 15. 'Pippin' is the captivating coming of age story about a young man's search for meaning in his life, as told by a lively band of troubadours in the Roman Empire. The episodic quest of Pippin, the son of the powerful Charlemagne, takes him through battlefields, orgies, revolution, and finally, love and domesticity, as he tries to find a place for his 'spirit to run free,' for his 'corner of the sky.' This production interweaves music, voice, American Sign Language and dance, and combines powerful storytelling techniques from both hearing and deaf cultures.
