Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) is thrilled to announce the eighth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series, a five-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written and directed by emerging artists, as well as post-show receptions. The Reading Series will feature new works by Aaron Carter, Emily Feldman, Dave Harris, Jonathan Spector and Sanaz Toossi.

For many years now, the famed Cirque du Soleil has been combining the two worlds of circus and theater to create some spectacular productions. Anyone that has seen one of their shows in Las Vegas or elsewhere knows that when you attend a Cirque production, it's an unforgettable experience. Cirque has repurposed the music of The Beatles, taken us to a spectacular jungle world and elsewhere in their past productions, but with their latest touring show Crystal the company adds ice skating to their repertoire. Combining traditional circus skills with breathtaking ramp jumps, break dancing, show skating and much more Crystal is not your typical Cirque du Soleil production. It takes place entirely on an ice rink, but for those that remember it, this is not your standard Ice Capades by any stretch of the imagination either.

The Barrow Group, under the leadership of Co-Artistic Directors Seth Barrish and Lee Brock and Executive Director Robert Serrell, is pleased to announce that the world premiere of Perp by Lyle Kessler will join the 2018-2019 season. Kessler is best known for the psychological thriller Orphans, which had its Broadway premiere in 2013 with Alec Baldwin, Ben Foster, and Tom Sturridge

The Barrow Group announces their 2018-2019 season, which consists of three daring productions that invite audiences to take a look deep within- inspiring positive change in action and awareness.

The co-producers behind The Kilbanes' Weightless, a hit rock opera-retelling of Ovid's Metamorphoses, as well as New York's Obie Award-winning The Tricky Part and Lucille Lortel Award-winning All the Rage, return to San Francisco with a new production of A Lesson From Aloes, to be presented at Z Below. Written by internationally-acclaimed playwright Athol Fugard and directed by Obie Award winner Timothy Near, this inventive revival will feature a star-studded cast of regional theatre's finest actors. A Lesson From Aloes will be presented June 3 - 29, 2018 (press opening: Thursday, June 7, 2018) with performances 7:30pm Wednesdays through Saturdays and 2pm Sundays at Z Below, 470 Florida Street, San Francisco. After premiering Off-Broadway 13 years ago, The Tricky Part, heads to the City of Brotherly Love for a  two-night limited engagement May 22-23. The true story of a young Martin Moran, The Tricky Part has been called "a translucent memoir of a play … shattering and affecting" by Ben Brantley of The New York Times. This production of The Tricky Part is part of Drexel University's Entertainment & Arts Management Program's Producing Live Entertainment class, led by Drexel professor and Broadway producer Brannon Wiles.

Kitchen Theatre Company continues its 2016-17 season and gets spring started with a provocative and moving one-person play, Throw Pitchfork, written and performed byAlexander Thomas. Throw Pitchfork begins previews on April 23, opens on April 27, and closes on May 7, 2017.

Despite some fine singing from soprano Patricia Racette (who also went the Full Monty in the title role), the Met's revival of Richard Strauss's SALOME was a little tame--something that it should never be.

Z Space and piece by piece productions will present The Town Hall Affair at Z Space, April 6-16, 2017. Press opening is Saturday, April 8 at 8pm.

The subtext being: either compromise or get out if you value your life, the latter, to be sure, the wiser. This is Berlin, circa 1929/30, before Hitler, just as Nazi pressure hits the fan. Now a national tour based on Roundabout Theatre's 2014 revival docks at Segestrom for a mere 2 weeks with a glorious cast headed by Randy Harrison in a big, broad and devilishly fun performance as the Emcee.
