New York Philharmonic To Feature Gilbert and Hardenberger in Concerts, 6/17-6/19

In the second of the final three weeks of his inaugural season, Music Director Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic in Wagner's Siegfried Idyll; HK Gruber's trumpet concerto Aerial; Mozart's Symphony No. 25; and Wagner's Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan and Isolde, Thursday, June 17, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, June 18, at 11:00 a.m., and Saturday, June 19, at 8:00 p.m. Joining the Orchestra to perform Aerial will be the Swedish trumpet virtuoso, Håkan Hardenberger, for whom it was written, and who is making his New York Philharmonic debut.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater has announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of Little Doc, written by award-winning filmmaker Dan Klores and directed by John Gould Rubin. Opening the company's 16th Season, performances of Little Doc will begin Friday, June 11 at Rattlestick Theatre (224 Waverly Place). The official opening night is set for Thursday, June 17. The production is scheduled to run through July 18.

Writer/actors Jeff Bowen and Hunter Bell will have the mind-bending opportunity to watch themselves played by Washington actors, Sam Ludwig and James Gardiner, at the performance then discuss the show afterwards in Signature's remarkably intimate 110-seat ARK Theatre. Legendary costume designer ALBERT WOLSKY and world renowned scenic designer MING CHO LEE are among the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 23 at 6:30pm at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Two-time Academy Award-winner Albert Wolsky will receive the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design, and Tony Award-winning scenic designer and educator Ming Cho Lee will receive the TDF/Irene Sharaff Robert L.B.
